An archaeological watching brief was undertaken by On-Site Archaeology Ltd at The Mount School, York during ground investigation prior to the development of a New Dance Studio. The investigation involved the monitoring of three small geotechnical test pits, two of which included borehole investigations. The watching brief has most likely confirmed that the area of the proposed development had been heavily truncated by early modern quarrying and probable modern landscaping. A small number of residual probable Roman pottery and a medieval tile was present; however, no archaeological features were identified during the investigation.
