Description

Archaeological monitoring took place during the mitigation excavation of Japanese Knotweed on rail sidings adjacent to Millennium Green between the 11th and 12th of May 2022. An irregular rectangular area measuring c.18m X 10m was excavated mechanically to a depth of up to 1.5m below ground level under archaeological monitoring that identified 20th century dumping deposits associated with allotments. No archaeological deposits of significance were encountered.
