Full Description
House with shop. 1836-39, with later alteration and C20 shopfronts. Pink-grey brick in Flemish bond, with window arches of orange gauged brick, painted stone sill bands and moulded stone cornice and parapet; hipped mansard roof of slate, with 2-light dormer windows and brick stack. EXTERIOR: 4 storeys and attic; 2 bays to Parliament Street, 4 bays to Jubbergate, on either side of curved corner bay. Alternate bays break forward, centre bay to Jubbergate breaking twice: left end pilastered. Windows on first floor are 1-pane or 12-pane sashes, with painted stone sills: on second floor, 12-pane sashes, the corner window tripartite with 8- and 4-pane sashes: on third floor, unequal 9-pane sashes. NMR Information:
Number 33 : The building has been altered and heightened so is now of four storeys, it is built of red common brick, laid in Flemish bond, with a slate roof. The Parliament Street frontage is of two bays with a rounded corner.
