Full Description
Walls, railings and 2 pairs of gate piers. Early C20 with mid C19 remains. Walls and piers red brick with dressings of artificial stone and stone. Railings cast and wrought-iron. At the west and north corners there are pairs of entrance piers of square plan with cornice caps of artificial stone. They are linked by railings bordering the pavement to The Mount, set into artificial stone copings on a low brick base. These have cast finials and at intervals have narrow panels formed by 3 uprights flanked by standards, supported by stanchions and with scrollwork tops. The central railings are emphasised by being taller and having scrollwork cresting. From the west corner a taller brick wall with low railings extends for approximately 40 metres along Albemarle Road. From the north corner a brick wall, mostly of C19 construction with stone copings, extends along Mill Mount and is connected to Mill Mount House (qv) by railings. Included for group value as an integral part of Mill Mount House (qv).
