The Hansom Cab, p.h., No. 23, formerly the Burns Hotel, of four storeys, attics and cellars, was built in the second quarter of the 19th century. It is of stock brick, with slated roof, and has a two-bay front elevation with a modern ground floor. It has been altered inside but the second and third floors retain the original planning, including internal rooms with borrowed light from the landings and staircase at the rear.
