House, now house and flat. Late C17 with early C17 origins; early C19 extension incorporating late C18 outbuilding: refronted c1900; further C20 alterations. MATERIALS: front of painted brick in Flemish bond, rear and right return of orange-brown brick in stretcher bond; extension of orange-grey brick in English garden-wall bond. Front roof of slate, others pantile, with brick stacks: two gabled dormer windows with scalloped bargeboards and round-headed sashes in round-arched pilastered architraves. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys and attic; 3-window front. Shallow porch with modillioned cornice has keyed segment-arched opening on chamfered pilasters with moulded imposts: door is of 6 fielded and incised panels within glazed and panelled screen. 2-storey canted bay window with moulded cornice to left of door: windows are 1-pane sashes with stone sills: moulded band of roses over ground floor windows. Other windows are 1-pane sashes with shaped lintels and painted sills, those on first floor beneath relief moulded semicircular panels. Timber eaves cornice inset with moulded ceramic tiles of rosettes with leaves. Rear: 2-storey 2-window range with 1-storey lean-to extension in front: flanked by wing to left of 2 storeys with attic and tumbled brick gable, 2-storey gabled wing to right. Centre range has glazed and flush panelled door; on first floor two casement windows, one of 6 panes, one of 2x6-panes. Left wing has Yorkshire sash window on ground floor to right of blocked opening with timber lintel. On first floor, unequal 9-pane sash window with 1-course segmental brick arch: 2x6-pane casement window with timber lintel to attic. 2-course raised brick band at attic level. Right wing has full-height shallow bow with french doors on ground floor and 4-light transomed windows. Right return: gable end of front range has tumbled brick gable, small 1-pane light over 2-course raised brick band to attic. To right, wing has window of 3x1-pane lights beneath 1-course segmental brick arch on ground floor: on first floor, one 4-pane sash window and 3-course raised brick band. INTERIOR: ground floor: door to rear hall in panelled screen framed in moulded architrave with corner roundels. Front right room retains fragments of original fireplace with stone lintel; timber stud partition wall. Rear hall has stone flagged floor, coved cornice and staircase arch of sunk-panel pilasters with imposts. Rear room has moulded dado rail and coved cornice over fluted frieze: painted stone fireplace in
surround carved with festoons and paterae has hob grate and moulded and dentilled cornice shelf. Staircase to first floor has concave sided stick balusters and serpentine moulded handrail, wreathed at foot around turned newel. Staircase window is round headed and margin glazed with hung shutter box of beaded panelling in round-arched moulded surround. First floor: landing has moulded cornice and plaster ceiling rose. Front rooms have 6-panel doors: left room has plain stone fireplace with hob grate; right room has plastered chimney hood flanked by small windows, one blocked. Attic staircase has close string, bulbous turned balusters, square newels with attached half balusters and flat moulded handrail. Attics: front range wall plates exposed at rear. 2-panel plank and batten doors survive. Queen strut roof truss to right wing.
