Full Description

Two houses, now hotel. c1845-50 with C20 alterations. Brick with some painted stone or stucco dressings. Concrete tile roof. EXTERIOR: 3 storeys above cellars. The windows are C20 casements. On the ground floor there are 2 canted bay windows with moulded cornices and with rendered bases which have cellar windows. The windows to the upper floors have rendered sill bands and painted rusticated lintels. To the right of the right-hand bay window a C20 ground-floor window opening replaces a former doorway. To the right of the left-hand bay window there is a pilaster doorcase with mutuled cornice, panelled reveals, and an overlight with margin panes. The gutter is carried on shaped brackets. Chimneys near centre of ridge and shared at left. INTERIOR: not inspected. (RCHME: City of York: London: 1972-: 126).
