Full Description

Includes: No.1 CHAPEL ROW. Pair of houses. c1850, later subdivided. Front of pink-cream brick in Flemish bond, rear of orange-cream brick in English garden-wall bond; timber doorcases, eaves frieze and guttering with cast-iron rainwater heads; brick stacks to slate roof, right end hipped. EXTERIOR: 2-storey 5-window front. Doorcases are pilastered with moulded modillion cornices and recessed doors of 4 sunk panels, that to No.31 in panelled reveals. Windows are 12-pane sashes with painted stone sills and flat arches of gauged brick: one to No.29 blocked. Rear: windows on first floor are 12-pane sashes, with one tall round-arched staircase window altered to 4-pane sash: all have painted stone sills. Right return: 2-storey 3-window front. Blocked centre window on both floors flanked by 12-pane sashes. INTERIORS: not inspected.
