Full Description

House with shop. Late C19. White brick in Flemish bond with timber guttering; left return of red brick in English garden-wall bond, right return rendered; slate roof with right end brick stack. EXTERIOR: 3-storey 1-window front. Plain shopfront of pilasters with fluted necking, frieze and projecting flat dentilled cornice between grooved brackets. Glazed and panelled door with overlight recessed between plate glass windows with transoms. First floor window is canted bay with 1-pane sashes beneath dentilled cornice and half-hexagonal roof: sills extend to form raised band. On second floor, windows are round-headed 1-pane sashes with projecting sills on brackets extended to form sill band. Moulded dentilled eaves gutter box on shaped brackets. Access to No.25A through panelled door in Straker's Passage, in pilastered doorcase with flat cornice hood on scrolled consoles. INTERIOR: not inspected. Included for group value as an integral part of Fossgate.
