Full Description
House, now shop. c1840 with later C19 and C20 alteration. Pink-grey mottled brick in Flemish bond with shopfront and moulded modillion eaves cornice and gutter box of timber; hipped pantile roof.
EXTERIOR: 3-storey 2-window front. Shopfront retains grooved pilasters with rosettes at the head, and flat cornice; C20 windows arcaded. First and second floor windows are 1-pane sashes with stone sills and painted channelled wedge lintels.
INTERIOR: not inspected. Included for group value with other buildings on Colliergate.

No. 10, of three storeys with a shop now occupying the ground floor, was built c. 1840 but includes the side wall of an earlier brick house. The domestic plan survives on the first floor, with a large square front room, the staircase placed transversely behind it, and a rather smaller room at the back beyond which is a small projection to which a third storey was added later in the 19th century. The staircase has turned newels and thin turned balusters
