Full Description

House and attached coach house; now flats and garage. Mid C19 with later alteration. MATERIALS: orange-grey brick, in Flemish bond at front, English garden-wall bond elsewhere, incorporating decorative panels of orange brick; stone plinth and painted stone dressings; broadly overhanging eaves and timber bargeboarded gables to slate roof; brick stacks with brick corbel cornices. Coach-house of same brick with slate roof. EXTERIOR: 2-storey 3-bay front articulated by pilaster strips incorporating decorative brick panels. Centre bay is deeply recessed; outer bays are gabled with full-height shallow projecting bay windows banded at sill level on both floors and at first floor level. Steps lead up to central door of 6 raised panels recessed beneath bracketed porch formed by balustraded balcony above. Ground floor windows are 1-pane sashes; on first floor, 12-pane sashes; all have flat brick arches, those on first floor with triple keyblocks. Returns: extruded chimney stacks towards front and rear of both returns double as pilasters. Left return has 12-pane sash window to first floor and round-arched radial-glazed sash in gable end, both with painted stone sills. Right return has tall bordered 8-pane staircase sash between ground and first floors; round-arched gable end window altered to fire escape. INTERIOR: not inspected.
