House, now flats. 1865. Brick with slate roof. EXTERIOR: 3 storeys above basement. 2 bays. The windows are sashed without glazing bars and have rubbed brick flat arches and a 1st floor sill band. At the left a canted bay window is set on a raised brick panel and has a modillion cornice. Its brick base includes glazing bar sashes which light the basement. To the right there is a doorway with pilaster doorcase, panelled reveals, plain rectangular overlight, and partly-glazed door. Modillion gutter cornice. Chimneys to left and right. INTERIOR: not inspected. SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: the gate and area railings have cast-iron finials. Nos 1-22 Bootham Terrace form an unusually complete row of speculatively built terraced houses, constructed between 1860 and 1870 to an interesting variety of different designs.
