Full Description

House, now part of school. Mid C18 with early C19 alterations. Brick in Flemish bond with some painted stucco or stone dressings. Tile roof.

EXTERIOR: symmetrical facade of 3 storeys and 5 bays. The windows have rubbed brick flat arches and are sashed without glazing bars on the ground and 1st floors and sashed with glazing bars on the 2nd floor. Above the ground floor there is a painted storey band at the level of the cornice of the C19 doorcase. This has Tuscan pilasters and plain console brackets, and a semicircular overlight above a 4-panel door. Timber modillion gutter cornice. Chimneys to left and right.

INTERIOR: not inspected. RCHM records original staircase with turned balusters, remaining fittings mostly late C18.
