Full Description

Two houses. Mid C19. Brick with stone dressings. Slate roof. EXTERIOR: a mirrored pair of 3 storeys with cellars and attic. Each house 2 bays. The windows are glazing bar sashes with stone architraves. The ground and first floor architraves have cornices. On the 1st floor they have a sill band and pulvinated friezes. Each house has a small flat-roofed dormer with a glazing bar sash. The outer bays contain doorcases with engaged Doric columns, fanlights, and doors which have 6 sunken panels. The 2 upper door panels to No 23 are now glazed. At the far left and right there are narrow openings to passageways, both with semicircular arched heads. The right-hand opening has iron gates. Timber modillion gutter cornice between shaped kneeler brackets. Chimney between houses in front of ridge. INTERIOR: not inspected.
