Summary

A Bronze Age bronze flanged axe, found at Bishopthorpe, is in York Museum (accession number YM 1319/1948), on loan from Mr BWJ Kent of Tatefield Hall Beckwithshaw. Mr Kent states that the axe was bought by his father in circa 1900 and that he has no knowledge of its find spot.

NMR Information:

A flanged axe, found at Bishopthorpe, is listed in the Brit. Ass. Catalogue. (1)

This axe is displayed in York Museum under the accession number
YM 1319/1948, and is on loan from Mr. B.W.J. Kent of Tatefield
Hall Beckwithshaw. Mr Kent states that the axe was bought by his
father c. 1900 and that he has no knowledge of its find spot. (2)
