Full Description

Former rectory and attached cottage with stable and coach house, now a care home. 1823-4 with minor C20 alterations. Red brick with slate roof. Two storey. Symmetrical street facade has three windows and bracketed wooden eaves. Central doorway has panel door and four-light overlight with door surround of painted baseless fluted Doric columns. Either side has single glazing bar sashes and above three similar sashes. Former cottage to right has single doorway also with overlight and single smaller sash to each floor. Rear facade has central porch with to right a canted late C19 bay window and to left a C20 casement. Above three glazing bar sashes. Attached to right wall links former cottage to stable. Stable has raised gables and pantile roofs. Gable end to street with blank ground floor and loft door above, plus circular pitching hole in gable apex. Courtyard front has plank door with overlight and to right a small window and beyond a plank stable door. INTERIOR of stable retains wooden loose boxes and feeding trough. Walls to link stable to coach house on opposite side of yard. Coach house has large pair of carriage doors with segmental brick arch and plank doors, to right a pair of cart doors with wooden lintel.
