Building record MYO2177 - Lowfield School

Summary

Lowfield School was a mixed comprehensive school which accommodated around 400, 11-16 year olds. It was built c 1970. In 2007 Lowfield School and the nearby Oaklands School were amalgamated to create the new York High School. Pupils were accommodated at Lowfield school during the construction of the York High School buildings at the Oaklands School site. Pupils moved from the Lowfield School site in 2009 and the former Lowfield School was finally closed. A fire on 3rd October 2008 caused substantial damage to the school building.
