Full Description

During the international art event Crunchtime2010 (www.crunchtime2010.org, 29th January 2010 to 6th February 2010) artists Waldo Bien, U We Claus and Sebastiaan Bien from the Free International University Amsterdam planted an oak tree and placed two stones in central York as part of their ongoing worldwide project 7000 Oaks initiated by Joseph Beuys.

The tree planting ceremony took place on Wednesday 3rd February at 2pm. As part of the event, passers by were asked to write down a wish. These wishes, along with a number of other objects and writings were placed in a sealed glass jar beneath the roots of the tree.

This ecological art action has placed York in the international network of the 7000 Oaks project.
