Summary
A field system of medieval ridge and furrow cultivation shows up in the areas south-west and north-east of Dunnington village on early post-War vertical photography. On more recent photography this appears levelled through ploughing. The original village was centred around the church, but new development over the last few decades has resulted in expansion in areas to the west, south, and east, in places which previously formed open fields.
