Full Description

Earthwork enclosure shown on 1st edition as Stot Fold.

NMR Information:
A rectilinear enclosure, 50 m by 30 m, was seen as an earthwork on
air photographs of Strensall Common, centred at SE 6390 5980. The
enclosure is defined by a bank and external ditch. Depicted on the
Ordnance Survey Ist Edition Six inch map, and named Stot Fold, it is
probably Medieval or Post Medieval in date. The enclosure has been
slighted in the north-west corner by a modern track across the
Common. (1-2)
