Monument record MYO3680 - 35-41 Blossom Street Roman inhumation cemetery

Summary

After the demolition of Mausoleum 2 rubbish dumping took place across the site. An inhumation cemetery was then laid out in the 4th century. The cemetery was organised in rows with little intercutting of graves and included the remains of at least 25 men, women and children. Most were buried on the same orientation, at least nine were buried in coffins and a number were accompanied by grave goods.
