Building record MYO3891 - 1-8 and 13-28 Grosvernor Terrace

Summary

Grosvenor Terrace is quite different from all the other 19th century streets in this area. The houses are white brick and do not have any classical details. Instead they have subtle ‘Romanesque’ or Gothic details such as the round or pointed arched windows and carved capitals on the bay windows. The houses are of lower architectural detail than those on Bootham Terrace. In 2012 there was a c.20% survival of original doorbell recesses and a c.5% survival of bootscrapers. Described as Buildings of Merit in the Historic Core Conservation Area Appraisal.
