Building record MYO3900 - St Olave's Sunday School

Summary

19th century former St. Olave's Sunday School building on the corner of Frederic Street and Marygate Lane. Converted in 1999 by York Housing Association; creating first floor living accommodation above parochial hall and practice room. School, house & yard. Gauged red brick with moulded string course detail, clay pantile roof with stone copings. Described as Building of Merit in the Historic Core Conservation Area Appraisal. Surveyed January 2015: Appears reasonably well managed and maintained. However, unresolved leaking public drain is causing settlement, and defective discharge to blocked surface water drainage. Maintained by Housing Association.
