Full Description

Built in late 19th century, they are generally of homogenous character and attractive appearance, enhanced by surrounding green space and allotments.
Albermarle Road is a grander street than the others. The houses are red brick, of three storeys with square bays and sash windows. Nos. 1 and 11, have additional features such as a crenellated porch.
Telford Terrace houses are two storey terraced houses of red brick. They also have square or canted bays and sash windows.

1 Telford Terrace was home to the Bousfield Family. They owned the Bar Works in Micklegate (now a PH at 129 Micklegate), in the 1860s. By the 1870s The Bar Works was described in trade directories as a whitesmiths and bell hangers, but by 1881 the business had diversified. It still worked metals, and produced and finished items such as metal fences, but it also installed and repaired cooking ranges, and did locksmith work. Matthew passed the business on to his son John in 1886 and died in Leeds in 1916.
