Building record MYO3998 - 44-76 Dale Street & 34-46 Dale Street

Summary

Dale Street contains a varied group of good early 19th century buildings and forms part of the setting of the listed Scarcroft School. They were largely occupied by railway employees and minor artisans. Nos. 34-46 are the most attractive on Dale Street, built 1823-8. They are two storey red brick cottages with tiled roofs and sit directly on the pavement. The remainder of the terraced houses were built later and are plainer but are framed nicely by small front gardens. Identified as Buildings of Merit in the Historic Core Conservation Area Appraisal.
