Full Description

This paved walkway is part of the New Walk/Terry Avenue Conservation Area that follows the line of an 11th-century dam across the Foss. It is a popular riverside walk that incorporates the natural form of the river and the planned landscapes that border it on each side. The paved walkway was a pleasant path laid in diamond pattern sets, right alongside the river at a similar level to the lower path on the opposite bank at New Walk, however, the bank slippage has obscured much of it and it is partly concreted over.
