Full Description
An early 19th-century school building built by the John Dodsworth Educational Trust. John Dodsworth was a Poppleton resident and York iron merchant, City Councillor, and Sherriff of York in 1787/8. He founded many schools around York. In 1894, the building became a Sunday School and subsequently a village hall. It is now a children's nursery, continuing the building's historic association with children’s education.
