Full Description

A fine and rare example of a Victorian farmhouse and its associated brick built barn and outbuildings. In particular the victorian threshing barn which informs of the villages agricultural history . The barn has ventilation strips , original symetrical barn doors and lintel on the south west wall and wooden shutters to the north east wall. The winnowing of corn would have occured in the space between . There is evidence the barn is built ontop of a previous barn dated no later than 17th century giving evidence off Rufforths development as a rural settlement and the trend of expanding post medivial barns to suit 19th century needs.
