Monument record MYO4206 - Oak Wood Ridge and Furrow, Strensall

Summary

Strensall Local History Group (SLHG) was invited by John Oxley, City of York Archaeologist, to undertake a survey of the ridge & furrow remains within the parish of Strensall and Towthorpe. 12 ridges altogether. No headland visible. 0.3-0.5m high, 6-8m wide all E-W orientation. Poor-fair condition. A total of 33 ridge & furrow monument records from the HER relating to Strensall and Towthorpe were forwarded by John Oxley to SLHG. The survey was carried out by Alan Powell and John North over a period of one year (2014-5).
