Monument record MYO4212 - Roman building

Summary

Evidence of a mid-late Roman building noted during an evaluation at 20 Bishophill. Evidence of floor surfaces with redeposited fragments of painted plaster were excavated. The floors were on an east-west axis, partially over a gravel surface revealed at a depth of 1m BGL. Deposits overlay clayey made ground and it is feasible the surfaces were external to any structure.
