Full Description

Ale-house for bargees. Mid C18 with later additions and alterations including rebuilding to left gable, outshut and single-storey range to rear; extensions to left and porch c1960 of no particular interest. Pinkish- orange brick with Welsh slate roof. Original lobby-entry plan. 2 storeys, 2 first-floor windows. Flight of steps to original off-centre entrance a 6- fielded-panel door. Entrance now through porch and C20 glazed doors to right. Ground floor has two 20-pane sashes with C18 glazing bars. First- floor band. 12-pane sliding sashes. Ridge stack. Interior has restored inglenook fireplace with ornate C19 bread oven by J WALKER, YORK and kettle arm. Some original beams to ceilings.
