Building record MYO4462 - FULFORD HOSPITAL

Summary

Fulford Hospital and the Maternity Hospital were opened in 1954. The site had formerly been occupied by a Second World War Ministry of Health Emergency Medical Services hutted hospital, which had later been converted into a prisoner of war camp. The two hospitals shared certain departments. The hospital was enlarged in 1974. It closed on 4th December 1983 and a retail outlet has since been built on the site.

NMR Information:

A Second World War prisoner of war camp at a military hospital in Naburn (SE 607 480), known as Camp 162. The site has since been built over by a retail outlet. (1)
Fulford Hospital was located at a former Ministry of Health Emergency Medical Services hutted hospital. Fulford Maternity Hospital closed on 04-DEC-1983. (2)
