(SE 62545000) Hospital (NR) (site of) (NAT). (2)

An almshouse or minor hospital was founded in 1608 beside
the York road, north of Heslington Hall, for a master and eight
inmates. The hospital, rebuilt on the Fulford road, Heslington
(Hospital shown at SE 62355015 on OS 6" 1853) in 1795 was
repaired and modernised in 1968 and is still in use. (3)

*It is assumed that this monument relates to MYO583 (Hesketh Cottages) and is the original site of the almshouse before it was rebuilt at that location. GIS location is based on somewhat vague NMR information and the exact location of the original site is unsure.
