Full Description

Railway viaduct. 1847. For North Midland Railway Company, East Riding Lines. Engineer, J.C. Birkenshaw. Contractors for ironwork, Gilkes, Wilkinson and Company., Middlesborough. Red brick with ashlar dressings and cast iron. 10 round land arches to south and 5 to north with cast iron elliptical river arch between. To land arches: ashlar impost bands, ashlar band above, low parapet ashlar coping. River arch has trellis decoration to spandrels and cast-iron balustrade.
