Monument record MYO4747 - Churchyard memorials
Summary
Two monuments in the churchyard of St Lawrence's Church. One lies 5 metres south west of the medieval tower and comprises a brick wall with an inscribed tablet set against it, overlooking a grave surrounded by iron railings. It commemorates the four sons and two daughters of John and Anne Rigg, who died in a boating accident in 1831. The second memorial stands on the site of the chancel of the medieval church. It is a cylindrical stone monument dedicated to the Allen family. The inscription is unclear, but it is thought to date to the 19th century. Scheduled.
