Full Description
Cross shaft surmounted by base of sundial. Probable C12 shaft with reputedly C15 sundial. Cross: square on plan, with polygonal sundial, approximately 1.5 metres high. Plinth. Fluted octagonal shaft. Sundial has no gnomon. Pevsner, N., Yorkshire: York and The East Riding, 1978, p.219.

The stump of an old cross which stood in the centre of Dunnington, was removed to the garden of the Rectory in 1840, and a new cross erected in its stead.(2)
The remains consist of a dilapidated limestone base with a portion and shaft 2'7" high capped by a cuboidal sun-dial. See G.P. The original site of the cross was at SE 67035259. (3)
