Full Description

Blast shelter recorded by the Pillbox Study Group associated with Clifton airfield. Shown on the 1967 1:2500 OS map.

Assessed and visited February 2023 by York University student Joseph Keeley as part of Raids Over York Project. Height 140cm, width 936cm and length/depth 901cm. This shelter is mostly intact, there is noticable wear including a significant crack in the right end wall and missing bricks to the sloped entrances. The floor plan is still easily recognisable and the interior wall is mostly undamaged. The shelter is overgrown and its entrances have been blocked.
