Full Description

Blast shelter recorded by the Pillbox Study Group associated with Clifton airfield.

Assessed and visited February 2023 by York University student Joseph Keeley as part of Raids Over York Project. Height 140cm, width 936cm and length/depth 901cm.

This shelter is mostly intact, there is noticable wear including a significant cracks to the walls and missing brick caps. The floor plan is still easily recognisable, however the interior wall is missing the top rows of bricks. The shelter is heavily overgrown and its entrances are inaccessible.

Described as medium condition - mostly complete, some damage to the structure but original form still recognisable.
