Full Description
Identifited as a location of a Stanton Shelter recorded by the Pillbox Study Group (PSG).
Student working on Raids Over York Project 2023: This shelter was not found on the map of clifton airfield stored in York Explore Archives. The York Outer Ring Road scheme investigations (2020) found no evidence for a shelter at this location, which between the ends of 2 firing ranges appears an inconvenient location. The sites reported by the PSG at these locations appear to simply be spoil heaps left from the construction of the dispersal pens and firing ranges.
