Full Description

Location of a Stanton shelter recorded by the Pillbox Study Group.

Assessed and visited February 2023 by York University student Joseph Keeley as part of Raids Over York Project. Height 140cm, width 936cm and length/depth 901cm.

Only sections of this structure remain in place, the majority of the walls have collapsed or been demolished, large sections of the walls along with rubble surround the remains of the shelter and form part of the earth infill. There is minor vegetation and tree growth covering the remaining structure.

Condition described as poor - Incomplete and/or heavily damaged, original structure/form is interpretable but not obvious.
