Full Description

Location of a Stanton Shelter recorded by the Pillbox Study Group.

Assessed and visited February 2023 by York University student Joseph Keeley as part of Raids Over York Project. Height 240cm, width 400cm and length/depth 600cm.

This shelter is almost unrecognisable, it has been filled and buried, the earth pile and remains of the brick entrance way being the only features to remain recogniseable. There are no signs of the internal Stanton shelter.

Condition - Very Bad- structure could only be interpreted through research of the area or prior knowledge, minor evidence of remains can be interpreted.
