Full Description

Location of a Stanton Shelter recorded by the Pillbox Study Group.

Assessed and visited February 2023 by York University student Joseph Keeley as part of Raids Over York Project. Height 240cm, width 400cm and length/depth 600cm.

This shelter is mostly intact. The brick entrance is still visable but the inner stanton shelter appears to have been filled. Roughly half a meter appears to have been excavated from the earth pile covering the shelter and shows that at least 3 of the concrete arches are still in location.

Condition - Poor - Incomplete and/or heavily damaged, original structure/form is interpretable but not obvious.
