Full Description

Included on HER after identification by student as part of Raids Over York Project.

Student comments: This dispersal pen appears to have been missed from the HER, the locations of the other 10 dispersal pens has been recorded, this one was likely missed by the PSG and HER record as it was rapidly converted and removed folowing the war. Considering the precedent for recording the locations of the other removed dispersal pens then this final site should also be added to the record.

The blister hanger has been missed from the HER however there appears no prior precendent for recording this type of location. The blister hanger was likely removed following the closure of the airfield, a concrete pad did remain however was removed in recent renovations to the site, the location has been planted over with grass, at the time of the visit (Feb 2023) the outline could still be recognised in the disturbed earth.

Not identified during 2020 YAT evaluation.
