Built as a Home Farm for the archbishops baliff (estate manager). Altered in late 20th century. Within its listed curtilage there is a former bake house - converted c.1930 into a garage. It retains its bread and yeast ovens. Within the roof there are resused 14th century beams possibly from the medieval gate house of Bishopthorpe Palace.
