Full Description

Two pairs of gate piers and two end piers, with connecting walls and railings. c1835. Ashlar and iron. The gate piers are octagonal on plan, stop-chamfered to a square at the base. The caps have 2 stages, the upper moulded below a pyramidal top, and the lower projecting as a deeply-undercut string course with a sloping upper surface. Between the gateways and extending to each side there are low stone walls with iron railings which have spear head finials. The north-eastern gateway is now infilled with a similar wall and railings. The walls terminate against plain octagonal ashlar piers with rounded tops. Included for group value as an integral part of No 117 and 119 (qv).
