Full Description

House with shop. Late C19 with C20 shop window. Orange brick in Flemish bond with two timber cornices; slate roof. EXTERIOR: 3 storeys and attic; 2-window front. 4-panel shop door with overlight recessed in panelled reveal of shopfront extended from No.39 (qv): to left, original window, of which flat arch and faceted keyblock survive, altered to cantilevered shop window. First floor windows are 1-pane sashes, second floor 4-pane sashes, all with painted stone sills and flat arches of orange gauged brick. Two 4-pane sash windows to attic, over moulded modillioned cornice. Plain eaves cornice. INTERIOR: full height staircase with flower and foliage ironwork balustrade, serpentine handrail and scroll treadends. Included for group value as an integral part of this important historic street.
