Full Description
House. c1860. Brick with painted stone or stucco dressings. Slate roof. EXTERIOR: 3 storeys plus attic. 3 bays. The outer bays have 2-storey canted bay windows with painted mullions and cornices. On the ground floor they have glazing bar sash windows and on the 1st floor sashed windows. There is a 1st floor sill band. The 2nd floor windows, and the central window on the 1st floor, are glazing bar sashes. The attic is lit by 2 flat-roofed dormers. The single-storey porch has canted sides of exposed brick, and paired pilasters supporting a plain entablature with cornice and blocking course. The door has 6 panels. The boxed timber gutter appears to be a C20 renewal and is carried on shaped brackets. Chimneys to left and right. INTERIOR: not inspected. SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: the front garden is enclosed by brick walls with stone copings. In line with the central doorway there is an iron gate with cast-iron gateposts.
