Full Description

House, now part of bank. Early C18; C20 alterations. Orange brick in Flemish bond with rusticated stone quoins and ashlar dressings, restored in cement; moulded timber cornice to tile roof. EXTERIOR: 3 storeys and attic; 2-window front. Ground floor bank front extends from Nos 2 and 4 (qv). Upper floor windows are 12-pane sashes in eared architraves, those on first floor with keyblocks. Those on second floor have moulded sills over brick aprons framed in ashlar. Restored moulded cornice over first floor windows, and prominent cornice to eaves. Attic window is flat topped dormer with 2x2-pane horizontal sliding sash. INTERIOR: not inspected. (City of York: RCHME: The Central Area: HMSO: 1981-: 176).
