Abstract/Summary

Geo-archaeological investigations (by Met Geo Environmental) comprising geophysical survey and the assessment of soil cores. Generally, the results showed a consistent sequence of sediment across the site. This can be generalised by the sequence modern topsoil, subsoil, stiff clay deposits, sand deposits over a darn brown sandy clay. There is an east-west difference in the depth of sand deposits. A more complex sequence of glaciolacustrine sediments were located near Germany Beck. No artifactural evidence was recovered from the core samples.
