Between the 5th and 9th January 2016 a watching brief took place during the excavation of footings for a new house to the rear of 302 Tadcaster Road, York. The site revealed nothing in the way of archaeological features with only very recent services or disturbances cut into the older agricultural soil deposits. Even in the deepest areas of excavation, where natural was reached, it was clear that no early activity had taken place.
